gw2 is shit. i dont like it.

Tera is pretty fun, I played CBT1-5 and Open beta, and I am continueing into launch. Good game to play on the side, while you wait for Planetside 2 to come.

Tera is a korean grind MMO with pvp dependent on gear from pve raids. While guild wars 2 is about everyone having the same gear and winning through skill not gear. Plus all lvl1 characters are equal to a max level person in the pvp arenas, battlegrounds, and etc.

lol, I have played Tera for over 50 hours, leveled to the beta cap, on 3 different characters.

It's the exact opossite from what you said. There is little to no grind, and PvP is all skill based, aiming timing and out thinking your enemy is important, as you have to aim your skills. You could have the best gear in the game, but if you can't aim or if you don't know your class or the class your up against, that gear does you no good. There is also PvP gear that you can get from battlegrounds, that is better then the PvE gear for PvP.

I have also played GW2, and that game is pretty much shit. It's the same old, same old. Brings nothing new to the table. And it's still a button mashing fest like everyother MMO.

Tera is the only game that is bringing something new to the table when it comes to MMO's.

But who cares, WoW is still the best MMO.

Have you played DragonNest, Joster? I'm curious how the action combat system in Tera compares to DragonNest. DragonNest, in my opinion, is one of the best F2P titles on the market, and it also features a Korean-based action combat system.

GW2 has fast-paced combat, but it's definitely not designed in the Korean action combat mold. It's a unique take on a stale genre, which mixes in some elements of MOBA's, without trying to venture into the territory of action-combat games like Tera, which I consider a different genre altogether.

Ultimately, all that matters is that the game be engaging and have a sizable skill gap. Guild Wars 2 definitely fits the bill there. Nymic and I played all weekend and barely scratched the surface of the game. Like many games, it may appear superficial at first, because you can definitely adopt the mindless button smash method, but as you peal back the layers, you realize that it actually has quite a bit of depth and complexity.

I will say, playing against Nymic all weekend was a bit of a trying experience -- kid has talent. Maybe you just need to get on his level, Joster. :P

I actually thought the core gameplay of Tera looked kind of interesting for a "classic" style mmo, but I also heard it has some pretty grindy roots as well. Also the japanime art and characters are a little odd sometimes... environments looked good though.

It seems like the kind of thing I might try for a couple hours, but not something I would stick with for long.

I hit cap. I didnt record any gameplay.

I'll prob record a boss fight in the first 60 dungeon.

Was fun leveling, but took alot of hours. Around 80+ play hours
